What's Going On? van Normil Hawaiians is eigenlijk totaal niet terug te leiden naar het heden. Niet vreemd als je nagaat dat dit een vergeten experimentele postpunk plaat is uit 1983. En dat hoor je absoluut terug. Niet zozeer een gemakkelijk album, maar wel een die gedoemd is om ten onder te gaan. Nadat het label Illuminated Records de opnames heeft afgerond, en het resultaat klaar voor release is, komt naar buiten dat het label vanwege financiële tekortkomingen dreigt om te vallen. Hierdoor is het onmogelijk om aan de promotionele verplichtingen te voldoen, en de band wordt met iets meer dan een handvol platen, ongeveer 250 stuks aan exemplaren opgescheept....
