Is Dry Cleaning het gehoopte daadkrachtige antwoord op het toeslaande heersende postpunk mannengeweld? Het begint er wel op te lijken. In ieder geval is het gezelschap rondom vrouwelijk sleutelfiguur Florence Shaw er helemaal klaar voor om het langverwachte debuutalbum New Long Leg af te leveren. Tom Dowse verdiept zich al eerder in de muzikale achtergrond van het postpunk genre en gaat op de Sweet Princes EP aan de slag om een zo identiek mogelijk jaren tachtig geluid uit zijn gitaar tevoorschijn te halen. Het pruttelt nog heerlijk op het stevigere Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks na waar ook Lewis Maynard zijn definitieve basvorm vindt en het steady ritme van Nick...
