Het psychologisch Hands That Bind drama speelt zich ergens op het Canadese platteland ergens in de another time, another place jaren tachtig af. Door onverklaarbare links met buitenaards leven, onverklaarbare plot theorieën en onverklaarbare losse eindjes roept het vergelijkingen met het lastig te plaatsen David Lynch werk op. Illustratieve vreemdsoortige personages worden belangrijker dan de steeds verder afrafelende verhaallijnen. Noem het een country Twin Peaks twist met de nodige Lost dwalingen. Het is tevens een zwartgallig eerbetoon aan Alfred Hitchcock, de meester van de suspense.
