Sinds het verschijnen van zijn debuutalbum in 2000 heeft Joe Bonamassa veel studioalbums en nog meer livealbums uitgebracht. Na bijna een kwart eeuw in de music business is er van stagnatie geen sprake. Treedt er door die uitdijende productie al een zekere Bonamassa-moeheid op? Je zou het vermoeden, maar zolang de man kwaliteit blijft leveren zijn de talrijke fans in hun nopjes met elk nieuw album. Blues Deluxe Vol.2 is een vervolg op deel 1 dat in 2003 verscheen.
